How to remove xp sp3 rc2 windows update key

Does anyone know how to get that to work? I know a windows repair will probably get rid of SP3, but as a lot of you will know, a repair usually causes some other problems to pop up. I had taken care to create a restore point manually just before installing, but found it had disappeared.

Then I tried Method 4, using the Recovery Console running spuninst. This executed back to a command prompt and I followed the rest of the instructions. But when I ran spuninst. Out of curiosity, I tried using the front USB ports again and they worked. So I suspect that SP3 was at least partially uninstalled. We can conclude that Method 3 Recovery Console works to some extent, but that the instructions are garbled. So although Computerworld 's resident Windows guru Preston Gralla warned everyone to be ready to be underwhelmed, we're betting that interest in Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate 2 will be high.

Because as Vista has stumbled, XP has gained new respect. More than one user has already sworn online that he'll give up XP only when someone pries the install disc from his cold, dead hands. When the upgrade goes final, we'll follow up with more. What exactly has Microsoft handed over? Dubbed Service Pack 3, v. By all indications, it's the same build as the one seeded to the closed-set of 15, beta testers about two weeks ago, on Feb. Where do I get it? Unlike the only other time that XP SP3 was offered to all comers, it's not posted on Download Center as a manual download. Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback.

I got so PO'd I just deleted every file pertaining to it! That was months ago. Unbeknownst to me, all original files have to be in place in order to remove a service pack! Then the serious problems started I could not reinstall SP3! I tried and tried, the furthest I got appeared to get to the end of the file copying, then I got something like " extended error ", I can't remember exactly now, and " SP3 was not installed ".

That after a freakin' 30 min wait!! Since then, my! Now it's still doing this even though I put the original file back in all its places!!! So it could also be that this patch screwed up something with regards to the file which the patch replaces with another version.

So I am screwed now, I'm going to have to reformat the mofo. I'm on another PC now of course.
