Cm storm xornet gaming mouse

Before I gave up gaming for a little bit I had a Logitech G9 mouse. I feel that this mouse is as accurate if not more accurate than the G9. Also this mouse is specifically for the "claw grip" gamer. Overall after getting back into PC gaming I did not have a lot of money to spend and needed a gaming mouse. I'm completely satisfied with this mouse even after having owned a higher dollar Logitech G9 before hand.

I recommend this mouse to anyone who is on a budget, uses claw grip, does not feel like they have to remap any of the buttons. Pros: Great mouse, awesome claw grip. The side buttons are easy to use and feel solid to push.

The mouse clicks are just gold, no problems at all. The DPI buttons are very handy for switching between games or programs and I have yet to push any of them on accident. Pros: This mouse is an ideal shape and weight for claw-grip gamers. If you are unfamiliar with claw-vs-palm please perform a quick search on Google. The mouse surface is quite grippy, even the areas of the mouse that appear glossy or smooth provide adequate traction.

At first I was disappointed that the mouse is so light, I'm used to associated weight with quality. However by design or chance the light weight actually is preferable for reasons of fatigue. I've found a claw grip is pretty easy to get fatigue or aches with. The lighter the mouse the less wrist fatigue. Cons: - No LEDs? Is it truly a gaming device with no LEDs? I jest. Overall Review: Before you order you should analyse your own grip style and how you prefer to hold a mouse.

Personally I rest my arm and wrist on the surface and grip the mouse with my fingertips. I move the mouse with wrist action, no arm movement. The Xornet is designed with this grip style in mind. Pros: Although this mouse is advertised for claw grip, I found it very comfortable for fingertip grip, too.

The slight elevation at the back of the mouse is a rare and valuable feature. Comfort is the single most important attribute of a mouse in my opinion. The materials seem good quality, I especially like the rubber on the sides.

The scrollwheel rolls and clicks better IMO than even the expensive Logitech ones. The hardware DPI switch is useful, and I like that the mouse doesn't need any special software or driver to utilize all functions: it's truly plug-and-play, and there's one less component to potentially malfunction. The cable is surprisingly long, which I consider a very useful feature even though I don't personally need it, so I just keep it rolled up behind the back of my computer.

I'm using the mouse on a dirt cheap textile mouse pad, and I had absolutely no issues with tracking, acceleration etc. Caveat: I'm only a casual gamer.

Cons: The weight and size of this mouse is OK, it isn't very tiny and it's slightly heavier than the cheaper alternatives, but a little more bulk would be welcome.

Overall Review: At first the ring finger rest on the right side felt weird as I wasn't used to it, but I very quickly realized that it was no detriment to how comfortably I could use the mouse. This is not a positive feature of the actual product, but it's worth mentioning that it comes in a simple but much nicer box than I would expect in this price range. Pros: Response time is great on this mouse, for the price you pay you really can not find better.

Solid mouse for gaming. Cons: for right handed only, most likely would be best only for claw grip as well. Pros: really nice fit looks awesome for the money iv always loved cooler masters products so when i saw this i got chills it looks great feels great awesome in game the dpi set is amazing not alot of mice on the market like this wait there's none on the market like this really good buy.

Cons: where you ring finger sits like the show in the vid my finger think it a button so im clicking on nothing lol it most likely just me its a lil small but i like it.

Angle snapping can be enabled or disabled for exact swift crosshair movements for incredible accuracy and enabling amazing skill-shots. The guaranteed 5 million clicks from these high grade switches means that the Xornet will provide an extended lifespan even for the most hardcore gamers.

Even in heated long matches and during quick life and drop moves, you retain full control and grip. In our experience, we found the difference between the two styles to be negligible, but some gamers swear by optical peripherals, and this one is as good as any.

In terms of games, the Xornet generally performed as well as any of its competition. While more buttons would have been nice, we were able to assign two of our most important skills crouch and use to the thumb buttons, which freed up our left hand considerably. The mouse was also not terribly useful for the other three titles. The mouse was perfectly competent, but offered no special advantage.

Likewise, the two extra buttons helped in "Arkham City" and "World of Warcraft," but given the vast number of extra commands available in each title, a controller or a more complex mouse would have served better. The Xornet has no liftoff range whatsoever, but it does have extremely precise Z-axis tracking. Picking up the mouse and placing it back down on a surface caused no appreciable cursor movement.

The best word to describe the Xornet is "unassuming. That said, palm-grip players, multigenre aficionados and tournament-grade FPS diehards can probably pass on the Xornet.

The Xornet is simple, but there is a certain elegance in its simplicity. Marshall Honorof is a senior editor for Tom's Guide, overseeing the site's coverage of gaming hardware and software. Some use more, but the vast majority stay at lower DPI ranges. They also probably don't mind the lack of buttons considering how many of them use Razer Deathadders, Logitech G9s, and other mice with as few buttons as the Xornet.

What's with the specs at the end? I'm sorry if I sound rude, but this article was not very well done. I love TomsHardware for their articles, mainly because they try to be as unbiased as possible by looking at the products they review from multiple different perspectives, but this TomsGuide article seems to give the mouse's low price as the only justification for it's lack of buttons.

Some people, really don't need or want that many buttons.
